Riverview Senior Living was established in 1998, a time when licensing for adult family homes was not yet a requirement. Proudly holding one of the earliest licenses in the state, with the designation number 28, Riverview has been a pioneering force in the field of long-term care. The founders played a significant role in the community, not only as members but also as the originating founders of the Clark County Adult Family Home Association (CCAFHA). Additionally, they served on the board of the Washington State Residential Care Council (WSRCC) for over a decade, contributing to the advancement of care standards across the region.
In the mid-1990s, the founders also operated a placement service, assisting families in finding the right care options for their loved ones. Their dedication to providing exceptional care led them to manage four different assisted living facilities in the Portland and Vancouver areas after stepping away from the adult family home (AFH) business in 2005.
In 2016, Riverview Senior Living reopened its doors, once again joining the CCAFHA and continuing its commitment to excellence in long-term care. Having come to this house, I have become emotionally and physically stronger. The family of Provider Lyuda are Christians and take care of me with love. Her husband Oleg is always sympathetic and wise. They take me to apartments when I really need it. Their children also make me happy in this house. With the boys, I began to feel younger, with them I seemed to return to childhood. We often take walks by the river together. They helped me buy an electronic piano here, and playing music distracts me from depression. The house has a calm and positive atmosphere. Delicious food. I have the opportunity to often visit the river, which can be reached on foot. Around the house, there is a path that helps to take walks if you do not have the strength to walk a long distance, but need to be in the fresh air. In this house, I was always hospitalized in time when I was feeling unwell. I have not regretted a single minute that I came to River View Senior Living.
Absolutely wonderful environment. I’ve been visiting here for over a year and I highly recommend it. I really appreciate the high standard of care that is provided here in such a caring manner that is invaluable. I wish there were more facilities like yours. The view of the river is beautiful. My wife has advancing Alzheimer’s disease (AD). I looked at all the best memory care facilities in the area, had one selected. But an AD support pro suggested that, given my wife’s disposition, a smaller adult home facility might be better for her, e.g., Riverview. It is. Small (6-resident capacity), home-like…. Meals are excellent home-cooking, served at the dining table, or room service if necessary. Riverview’s continual rating of Excellent is well earned by special caring for the residents, and accommodating the residents’ families. I visit casually and often, and have come to feel like extended family (often invited to share in the meal, especially for a birthday or holiday). Our stay began in December 2020, with no end in sight. My wife is happy there.
My mother and her family were blessed with the very best care, support, comfort, and expertise at this very special place. We will always be grateful.
